Gdańsk Sport Centre is the leader of Ecomarinas project (nr STHB.02.02-IP.01-0006/23), co-financed by the European Union within Interreg South Baltic.
Eight partner organisations from Poland, Sweden and Germany team up to work on identification and implementation of solutions improving the sustainable use of water in marinas, aimed at reducing water pollution in the Baltic Sea.
Therefore, activities under the Project are aimed at increasing knowledge and supporting activities in the field of effective and sustainable water management, including limiting discharges of nutrients and hazardous substances to the sea and river basins connected to the Baltic Sea. Project activities focus mainly on marina operators, as they are the ones who influence the marina’s environmental policy. Marina managers know their customers and their habits, thanks to which they are able to reach them, prepare the basics and set internal marina standards in the field of water management. However, it is planned to implement a campaign aimed at raising awareness not only of sailors and marina administrators, but also of the general public regarding anthropogenic pressure and protection of the Baltic Sea.
One of the first steps will be a study visit onboard STS Generał Zaruski. Representatives of partner organisations will set sails to begin working together on measures and strategies that will lead us to achieving the goal of the project…

From submitted applications, persons that match the criteria will be selected and invited to join the trip.
Timeline:
- August 7th – deadline for submitting applications
- August 8th – all applications will be considered and every applicant will receive feedback and more detailed information
- the sailing trip will begin in Gdańsk on Monday, September 2nd at 1000 am, and finish on Sunday, September 8th around 3 pm, also in Gdańsk
Participants cover their travel costs to and from Gdańsk and their own expenses on the way. Harbour fees, food, fuel and insurance are provided by the Organizers.
